RCMP Heritage Centre

Welcome to the home of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s only training centre for cadets.

The RCMP Heritage Centre is dedicated to telling the story of the RCMP and appropriately is located on the same grounds as the Training Academy (Depot). Delegates will learn about the iconic history of the force with self-guided audio tours of the exhibits or on a guided tram tour of the training academy grounds. When using this facility as a unique off-site venue, try and match your dates to coincide with a sunset ceremony retreat, a Canadian Tourism Commission Signature Experience. Add an unique flavour with pipers, Aboriginal dancers, or the exciting 3D virtual Musical Ride experience where delegates will have the opportunity to jump in the saddle and become part of the famed iconic RCMP Musical Ride.

When visiting Depot, you will have the opportunity to see the RCMP Chapel. Constructed as a mess hall in 1883 and converted into a chapel in 1895, it is the oldest known building subsisting in Regina and a component of the oldest surviving mounted police facility. The Chapel remains one of the best examples illustrating the arrival of the North-West Mounted Police in Regina, a turning point in the city’s history. When you visit the Chapel, please remove your hat to show respect for fallen members of the force.
